Monster Sleep

Monster Sleep

A Poem by Amanda Richelle
"

I rarely remember my dreams, but certainly understand that I do dream and have experienced physical responses to dreams that I cannot recall.

"
Restless sleep
Wake incomplete
Thought gremlins creep
Rustling the sheet

With the body dormant
These creatures become most important
Enticing joy, illiciting torment-
Orchestrating every moment

Ear to ear they travel
Beating heart as loud as a gavel
Pumping blood, digesting gravel
A thread begins to unravel

In this state of purge
These fiends accept the consequence of fulfilling an urge
As impuritues surge,
Resolutions also emerge.
