Serenity on Stage...A Poem by Amanda RichelleI read this at poetry open mic night tonight!
Serenity finds me in the strangest of places,
Blended in with other blank faces, Avoiding the emotions that focus replaces. Committed we are to social graces. Serenity finds me cowered in a corner, Retching and weeping after swallowing horror, Choking on extinction instead of moving forward, Conjuring the past- a contagious disorder. Serenity finds me amongst the grit, Drowning in a fickle tar pit, Even to this- I cannot commit, Shallowness has benefits- I must admit. Serenity finds me although I am bashful, Dodging personal questions- remaining ever tactful, Concerned that with each breath I create a hassle, It takes a resilient shell to house one so fragile. Serenity defines me- an intangible soul, Remaining calm while falling down a black hole Maintaining peace after innocence is stole, Untroubled and conclusively out of control. © 2015 Amanda RichelleReviews
