Haiku Collection

Haiku Collection

A Poem by Amanda Richelle
"

I wrote these Haiku after integrating meditation practice in t my daily routine

"
My enemy lurks
Sees my cowardice and smiles,
Good luck to my foe.

As I inhale
Inevitably I know,
I must release 'me'

Chirping continues
The day awakens softly
Darkness never ceases

Illuminating
Heavy souls opening wide
Birdsong chorus alive

Squinted against sun
Brightness fills, shadows forming
Press the earth with heat

Weightless search for home
Defy gravitational pull
Rock meets flight- course over.

Destined to scurry
Careless and calculating
Do not crack- just open

Author's Note

Amanda Richelle
I am trying to expand my comfort with different writing styles. These aren't necessarily the most traditional Haiku, but I feel like I am writing something 'different.' Any feedback on form/style/structure would be greatly appreciated!
