If You Were My Girl

If You Were My Girl

A Poem by knowman
"

Love poem written in 1986

"

Once again with pen in hand,

I wish to God to understand,

how to tell you I want you near,

to convince you I’m sincere.

To take away all your doubt,

to give reason, to give a shout,

to love you much with total trust,

to love you true and not with lust.

To hold you high with meaning too,

to tell the things I want to do,

to lay by you and keep you warm,

to love you deep and keep from harm.

With all my strength to hold you tight,

to be with you both day and night,

to care for you in all you do,

to prove that, I do love you !

get a rooftop, a microphone, A yell, a holler, shout it with your everything, say it in the most subtle and silent of touches, while keeping the meadow company on a spring day whisper it in the ear to block out the wind it'll be heard. Nice romantic right here I feel it.

I love the rhyme here....gives the write a very innocent feel which is sometimes the best form of love. Deep emotion and love that reaches the reader.
