Little Voice Deep Within

Little Voice Deep Within

A Poem by knowman

There’s a tiny little voice inside me,

That tries to set me straight,

But then the outer senses cry,

And it all becomes to late.

Though I try to listen to it,

So I can stay aware of mind,

But with this carnal knowledge,

This, Peace is hard to find.

My small voice sends out peace,

And tries to clear my road,

But I keep putting stumbling blocks,

To weight down my heavy load.

Help me lighten this burden,

By loving me from within,

Build me up, just for you,

So I can love again.

My voice within me is often insistent on condemning myself for little things. I believe love can life the burden we bestow upon ourselves and your poem clearly has opened my mind.

This is great. I know that little voice and so much in life just drowns it out. We talk ourselves out of listening to it too often too just to regret it later. It takes hard work to listen to it but after a while it does get easier. I really like this poem.
