Office of MosesA Poem by knowmanan 2008 poem about responsibilityThe office of Moses is silent but great, But it leaves many things on ones own plate, Such as ascending to a much higher plane, And calling on God with your heart and your brain. To leading your people to Salvation and Love, And many other things you can think of, To talking to God and come face to face, Even uprooting and changing your place. Feeling the hurt when things go so wrong, And laughing and singing to God’s brand new song, To quieting the suffering to which there is much, And leading mankind with a soft gentle touch. Taking command when the adversary strikes, Knowing your people and their likes, and dislikes, Doing battles for them, no matter what, And teaching them all the things they have sought. Giving your all in their time of need, Consoling their hearts when you hear them plead, Standing so firm, like a solid good rock, Talking the talk, and walking the walk. This office of Moses will always stand, As it came from God and always be grand, So whom has this office must be complete, Or one would surely find nothing but defeat. Knowman © 2011 knowman |
