Habits

Habits

A Poem by knowman
"

something everybody has

"

Some make you happy,

Some will make you sad,

Some seem good for you,

Some we know are bad.

Habits are like breathing,

Their, there even when your not,

Some leave you cold and shivering,

Other’s can make you hot.

The secret to a habit,

Is knowing it’s around,

And seeing all that can happen,

When it really brings you down.

We all have sorted habits,

We need them to get by,

Or at least we think that way,

To satisfy our reasons why.

The breaking of a habit,

Usually makes us new,

But then we seem to need much more,

We’ve nothing there to do.

Replace each habit with the Spirit,

As the strength it carries is great,

And it fills the lonely gap that’s there,

And cleans the lonesome slate.

I think there are good and bad habits, so it's only the latter that most of us need to worry about. You're right about recognizing a bad one and trying to do something about it.
