What if...

What if...

A Poem by Raine

What if I never knew,
What a grown man looked like,
With out clothes.

What if
I never knew what it feels like,
To have sex before the age of seven.

What if
I never knew,
How to carefully hide the pain behind lies .

What if
I never knew,
The shame you feel when you're tied down .

What if
I never knew,
The way a blade glides against soft skin,
The way a pill feels, sliding down ones throat,
The way I pretend I've already eaten,
When inside I starve for more,
The way it feels when I smile and laugh to hide fears,
The way I pretend to know that the voices inside my head aren't real .

What if I never knew,
What it feels like to be,
Me

These are the hard what if's in a young person life. A powerful and sad poem. No reason or excuse to abuse a child. Description and story was very good. I could feel the disappointment.
