Tears

Basically my feelings written out.

There we are,

Lying in the grass.

 

Laughing.

Smiling.

Talking.

 

You turn to me,

And tell me

That you’ve never loved anyone

As much as you love me.

 

I smile as tears

(happy tears)

Spill out of my eyes.

And I shut them,

Praying that we could be like this forever.

 

And when I open them,

I’m alone.

 

They’re not memories,

They’re dreams.

 

They’re not laughs,

They’re sobs.

 

And a tear falls down my cheek.

Simple but effective. Your use of almost violent time change provides a perfect back drop for the emotions that come through.
I can actually see this happening as I've been through something like this and I've found it to be one of the hardest things to express.
