A very strong peice i feel, it shows the strong and the maybe a little confused side of your personality. It shows power nad the sensitive side we all share =D good write
I remember doing poetry on my course in Creative Writing, and we experimented with not just writing the words but actually experimenting with using different fonts and things to express emotion; and I love the way you've done that here, the use of italics, capitals, bold, underlined words, it all gives away different emotions-- and what I get here is alot of resentment and discontent for the fact that this person is finding it so hard to get over this person! You're very talented Zoe, keep it up!
This one speaks to me of someone in an abusive relationship. Not the sort which is violent but the sort which is bourn out of a selfishness and uncaring attitude.
The thing is,
Even if you treat me like dirt sometimes
I still listen
Because I deserve it,
I think.
This stanza hit me like a bolt of lightning. How can someone deserve such treatment by caring for another? Yet such people fall victim to selfish and manipulative people who think nothing of taking what they want and moving on when they get bored. They do not care what damage they do to others. They just talk the talk to get what they want.
I like this a lot, a nice amount of emotion and depth went into this - great job. And that last part is just amazing, really finishes off the poem with a nice touch and leaves the reader thinking. Great job, keep it up!~
ALl the thoughst aside I got trapped in one.
"The thing is,
Even if you treat me like dirt sometimes
I still listen
Because I deserve it,
I think."
Thi scan clearly be read in the two ways. One the narrator thinks she deserves being treated like dirt OR that you THINK you desreve to listen to the problems.
That is where the glory of poetry kicks oin and where left with the hanging questions that force us to reread over and over.
Hey there.
This is where I keep all of the jumbled words in my head after I have organised them into pieces of writing.
If you lend me some words of wisdom, I will happily return the favour! more..
