The stars

A poem I wrote a while ago :)

Apparently,

The stars shine all night

You said they would watch over me,

Look after me while I sleep

If I’m honest, it makes me feel better,

Looking up,

You can see them dancing,

Dancing,

Dancing,

Dancing,

Dancing all night.

 

I trust them,

But I don’t trust trust.

I don’t trust many things.

 

You see,

At night I trust the stars,

But in the day

 

There’s nobody.

I have a slight obsession with the stars and I feel similar to how you do. The stars really do seem to watch over us, looking after us.
I find comfort in the idea that the stars are always there, even when we can't see them. But I suppose it's quite true that in the daytime it seems that the stars desert you only to greet you again at nightime like an old friend.
Anyway, enough rambling. Fantastic piece :)

i don't trust much either. but you can definitely trust the stars, unlike humans, they are always there, even when you can't see them. i like the first stanza the best, the repeating lines of dancing. it has a child-like quality to it. short, to the point, & i am drawn to anything that involves stars. charming write.
