requiem

requiem

A Poem by Katya Hutchinson

1:09 and my heart retreats
back behind these bones
these gelatinous bones.
they've grown soft from defeat.
and my young body resonates
from an age it hasn't known,
to harmonize with the song,
of a friend flying home.
Notes on her wing
the gentle comfort she sings.
Hear the song of the lory
sweet ,soft, beckoning
melancholy noise
saddest story,
slight requiem for Laurie.

solstice, solitude, and I never said enough.
