Behind The Mask

Spring, the time of growth, rebirth and starting new. I look in the mirror, the real me hidden behind my eyes. I put on the face that everyone knows, just waiting for the time I do not have to hide behind that face.

Summer has come, School is out. The days are long and hot. The real me is itching to get out, clawing at the mask that covers its face.

Fall has begun it is almost time. She can feel it, she is desperate to get out. The trees are turning from living to dying. Death is in the breeze that moves from tree to tree, I can feel it inside me.

Winter has come- she is out in the open, no need to hide behind the masks of the seasons. The weather is cold like her heart. Frozen in time this is her season, no need to pretend, she is happy to just be. She knows it won't last forever so she cherishes every wicked and cold moment knowing that soon she will be put away, behind the mask until the next cold winter day, Then she will get to come out and play.

You sure have a grudge against you it seems.
First of all , you don`t look like a dragon to me .
You look young, beautiful and sensuous.
Why would you want to hide behind a mask ?
You sound like a sweet, loving and very talented
young woman.
You definitely do not look like a dragon, even a
topaz dragon.
I would love to see a story or poem about the young,
beautiful and gifted girl whom you are.
