My Valentine

A valentine poem, I wrote my wife back in 2001

It happened many years ago,

Across a crowded room.

I spied the girl of my dreams,

Her beauty all abloom.

 

Now she had charms and beauty,

For all the world to see,

But I tried to persuade her,

To save them all for me.

 

Many, many years have passed,

Since that fateful day.

And she has stood beside me,

Every step along the way.

 

Now as we two approach,

Our golden years of life.

I can’t help, but think it was a miracle 

When, that girl became my wife.
