You are a Beautiful Writer

You are a Beautiful Writer

A Poem by Anna Blackburn

Please don't take this from me.
I read the words you have laid on your paper;
I'm torn
The words go down deep and slice me like a sword.
You are a beautiful writer.
I'm afraid that the story your words speak are truthful,
and then I don't know you at all.
You are a beautiful writer.
Please don't take this from me;
I want to be the best.
Did you switch me roles,
or am I fading into nothing?
You are a beautiful writer,
but you make me feel as though my words
shall perish at the sight of a pen.
