Chapter Five: An adventure

"There is no certainty; there is only adventure - Robert Assagloll .

The five friends was enchanted by the naturific embodiment of the forest, it was like an amazonian jungle, yet the deserted areas of the community to which such a wonder was present was an enigma.
"I really don't think we should go in there" Micheal said, breaking the silence.
"Now don't tell me you are scared." Sophia said mockingly.
"Shut the f**k up"
"I support Micheal" Ade spoke.
He wasn't scared, despite the loneliness of the forest, like it was out-casted. No, that didn't bother him...he had known all his friends most of his life, he knew there behaviors, there weakness and for course Micheal's uncertainty. He had an accuracy for predictions, once they had an Math test and he said "I really don't fink you shuld read that..." 'Integration.'  While they cracked there skulls open, he learned simple algebra and went surfing. He had always been right with his predictions, what says he wasn't now.
"You all could whine like little chicks, when you through with ya debate, you could meet me. Am off to start an adventure." Nia said as she marched into the forest.
Wen without even speaking followed. Sophia strides in also.
"I think they might need a man in there" Ade said jokingly...he walked in also.

The boy watched from the window, he wondered who the strangers were...apparently they were out in the day and close to the forest. He watched as they entered into the forest one after the other, like it was a senior first - junior last kind of ritual. What were they doing entering into the place that has more scary stories than an encyclopedia on the paranormal would compare to.
"Mom i think you should see this" The boy shouted
"What again?!" Gabrielle shouted from the laundry room
"It's not about the ants fighting, some people are going into the forests with backpacks"
Gabrielle ran to the window and saw a lone figure standing at the south of the forest, hope he wasn't entering...yes he was. Obviously contemplating on which leg to put forward .
"How many were they?" Gabrielle asked frantically
"I think five including him"
"Okay...stay here Doug"
Gabrielle ran off.

Mike had an obsession with footing, he was one of the many people on earth with weird phobias, yet never accept it. To him it wasn't a fear, it was a precaution all about making the right choice...he was going in with is right, a sign for goodwill. He turned back to see a lady screaming "NO!". She approached him.
"Don't go in there" Gabrielle said panting.
He wondered who she was...but the more why she doesn't want him going into the forest.
"Why shouldn't I?"
"Cause plainly put there are blood lust monsters in there that feed on people, they would crack your skull and feed on your brains and hang your genitals for trophies"
He laughed, of all crude jokes he ever heard, this one was the best...a monster who hangs genitals for trophies? Kind of scary. This was going to beat all jokes Britons ever had in there libraries.
"Do you think this is a Joke?" She sounded blunt.
"Am i supposed to take it seriously. Now if i told you that would you?" Mike asked
"Well look around you, does it look like a joke...
"For christsake lady, if i am to say i believe what you just said, I've got friends in there that are closer than family and you are saying i shouldn't go into the forest?...I've got to, no two ways about that"
"I really don't think you should"
Micheal smiled, he watched the woman, her sympathy for his pathetic life and the uncertainty of her decisions...
"So what's your name lady?"
"Gabrielle. Gabrielle Sands" She hoped the conservation might cajole him from going to meet his death.
"Oh! what lousy name for a pretty lady, now i think your parents are nuts or you married a guy with a bad name...either way you are to be blamed."
She laughed. They were getting somewhere.
"What's yours?"
"For that you'll have to wait...Bye"
Micheal entered into the forest, and for the first time in his life he never had to bother which leg he had marched on with, his whole focus was getting out with his friends alive. If truly the monsters exist, he needed to be fast.
Gabrielle knew she couldn't stop him, he was far to fast to even notice he already had placed his left leg in the forest, he had every intention of going in since she had mentioned the monsters. In less than twenty minutes he had managed to make her laugh, something she had never imagined she will do...she liked him and she prayed silently. Please God bring him back
