The Colour of LifeA Poem by AbiramiInspired by the movie,'Invictus',it portrays how racism changed lives forever and how whatever may be our differences,we're all the same, humans.
Stirred are memories past,
torn between worlds with pain and screams, there's no getting away not so fast for these are not just poignant dreams. I speak of years recently passed innocents killed enmasse (you'd laugh if you know why it was caused ) But not so much at the mighty loss The reason was simple and clear 'they're of different colour and race'they say And sow the seeds of fear 'we're superior and they'll have to pay'. For years together nothing was altered hope rose when a few were crowned and they too wittingly faltered the return of justice seemed to be drowned. What a disgusting, vile time it was, when life meant no more then flesh but then came the time to correct the flaws; To control the demon and enmesh. Time it is when race is one-that's Human and the term 'colored' has perished there is no population working for a few men and equality is cherished. We're all equal in God's eyes but for the lesson learnt,we had a price to pay with thousands of lives and millions of cries worldly people holding hands,"we're all equals" let us say.
