The Timekeeper.

The Timekeeper.

A Poem by abhas
"

the one man who is always eager to know the time right now.

"

Silent on the stone of remembrance,

Sits the lonely man,

Skin peeled from his hands,

Shows the wasted years,

People marching by,

Some care to look,

Some find it hard to try,

But there he sits... all alone,

The Time keeper,

Washes away the offal evil

That we breed on the streets,

There he sits, there he sleeps,

With time left to eat!

The passing by breeze

Is reminded of the hour

That

He spends in every hair turned grey,

And his family spent in cower,

Lives and dreams have touched the face,

Shrivelled in-justice,

Beyond the doors of pleasure,

Only Time has lived,

The Time keeper,

Can’t buy a clock,

None to tell

His broom thin legs trod only so far,

For his art was too evil to sell,

Behind the sickening veil we hide,

In the nauseous normalcy we drape,

....As we live on,

Only Time shall Escape...

. ah ... ghadi babu ... from saheb, bibi aur ghulam ... was played by the great harindranath chattopadhyaya ... i loved him and his portrayal of ghadi babu ... i dunno if you've seen the film ... it's a masterpiece ... a timeless classic ...
. i love this poem too ... although ... i must confess ... one of the reasons why i got kicked out of society was because i don't get intimidated by time ... i look at time and say ... "tu kaun, mai khamakha" ... which ... sort of means ... who are you ? ... you are no one in my scheme of things ... so, why should i unnecessarily get bothered by you ? ... i think, therefore, that life begins to make sense once time loses its relevance ... but i could be wrong ... and your poem could be right ... either way, you express yourself beautifully ... and i can't imagine not reading every word you write ... so keep writing, kobi moshai ... and more often ... else i'll start complaining ...

Many time keepers in this world. Most of us are control by time. Would be nice to have time to think and be with family. Thank you for the amazing poetry.
