Roses.

Roses.

A Poem by abhas

Oh the sunshine down the road... take me where no one goes,

Where people don’t love, people don’t live,

For life and love hurts more than you believe,

Oh the dewdrops on the green flushed meadows,

Take me to such an old place,

Where I won’t dream of your silly face,

The night grows louder with each passing moment,

You’re not here and I don’t know why...

The stars still shine brutally in the sky,

Oh the night sky, take me away,

Minutes to dawn... I’m still awake,

Dying to believe all of this is fake,

This life has become a dream in reverse,

The reason loses itself when I think of you,

Nothing grows old when nothing’s new,

Now it’s all thorns and empty glasses,

All this agony won’t get you back,

So I’ll just burn those letters kept in the rack,

Let everything be happy and well,

Because I’ve tried but I can’t let go,

And let time heal this blow...

Oh the gardens are full of roses,

I’ve lived these moments through and through,

I know you really love roses... but... I ... only love you...

Author's Note

abhas
phases, times and ordinary rhymes... just all the ingredients... that we try to mix and conceive a recipe to make us believe that love was an illusion... but its hard to convince ourselves so logically ... because when I look back and feel your touch... brings me back to the point where i am child begging to dance in the rain.....

please don't burn the letters, put them up somewhere safe, it isn't there fault that the love didn't turn out like you thought

wonderful writing, I have my own little cache of letters that I could never quite let go of, it seems that there was good reason to hold on to those words

Third stanza, second line, before the last word I don't know if you forgot to put "know" there
"You’re not here and I don’t "know" why..."
Besides that I think the poem was well written, great flow, it's beautifully and the emotions come through so well. Lovely piece of writing again :D

A beautiful poem with a sad tone to it. Flowers have great meaning in a life. Can mean love or sadness. I like the description and feel of emotion in the words. Ending line was amazing. A outstanding poem.
