In the silent whispers of autumn leaves,
where the butterfly flies and leaps…
I’ve found you.
I’ve found you in my dreams,
where you reside as it seems.
I’ve found you across the deserts of Sahara…
You were the oasis of my love.
But I could not make you mine enough.
In the setting of moonlit nights,
when leaves and wind had their fights…
In the hot springs which gave birth to life,
and in God who made me survive…
I’ve found you…
I’ve found you at the end of endless oceans with depths unknown,
Where no life prevails and darkness overgrown,
You were my hope to live… hope to die,
With you time always seemed to fly…
Oblivion never had the courage to part me from you,
Neither the Devil would wish for such an anathema to come true,
You were my joy… my sorrow;
You were my hope for a better tomorrow.
But destiny would always separate you from me,
And make me what I never used to be,
Still I know that I had found you,
In every breath of fresh air I blew,
Even though life had made me its slave,
At the end of it all … I’ll be beside your grave.
... it's an absolutely heart-breaking ode to a love lost ... and yet finds its expression in the last line ... what a line that is ... the journey from "autumn leaves" to "dreams" to "deserts" to "moonlit nights" to "hot springs" to "endless oceans" to "joy" to "sorrow" to the future carves the aura of love with artistic excellence and sensitive expression ... one is consumed and transported into the world of the poet ... "still i know that i had found you" is an amazingly simple yet profound and poignant expression for the gratitude for love ... echoing its selflessness beyond possession ... but again the last line is where the love of the narrator is etched ... leaving a mark that cannot be erased ... setting the boundary of love beyond the boundary of life ... an immensely consuming read ... exceptional poetry ... (highest rating) ...
this is an unusual read for me abhas .. cause usually your writes are too dark and gothic .. this is my genre i.e. poems that are kind of an ode to love .. this one goes into my favs.
