I. Infrequentia

I. Infrequentia

A Chapter by Abdul Aziz

I. Infrequentia

The trees had lost their earthern charm

When winter came around.

The leaves were sad, so coldly sad;

And fell upon the ground.

The smell of grass, the summer smell

Was nowhere to be found.

The place was damp, the earth was cold

And I, entrapped by time,

Had wished upon the yonder stars,

For reason and a rhyme;

For warmth to make me live again,

And a dame and few a dime.

The books of life lay old and gray

As time had gathered dust;

The winter would not move away;

The heart began to rust.

The leaves began to slowly wilt

As surely as they must.

The eerie shroud of winter's make

Had swallowed all the light;

The sad and dreary harp had made

The day as bright as night;

When all was lost, or so I thought,

I chanced upon a sight.
