A Forgotten TuneA Poem by Abdul Aziz
I heard a tune this very morning
'twas swirling through my mind, As soft a gentle whispering As any you can find.
It mildly cooed into my ears And made me sing along, My open eyes - they slowly drooped; So pleasing was the song
One wished that it would never stop, This soothing tune of mine, With every drop of life that seasoned Its every reasoned line. Alas! My eyes that closed so gently Were torn apart by time; And all that's left of melody Is a scattered sense of rhyme.
But now I cannot find the tune However hard I try; I sit and wait for a wafting song To one day pass me by.
My childhood song is a distant dream, And life's now oft unkind; But I shall find some solace in The ties that life will bind.
