A Few Wishes

A Few Wishes

A Poem by Abdul Aziz

May the onset of the stars drown your worried thoughts

And may the tranquil breeze of night whisper in your ears;

May the silent waves of peace endure with you forever,

And may they cool your tender heart and dry away your tears.

May the calmness of the evening embrace your joyous face

And join the pieces of a smile to make a dreamy whole.

May the golden streaks of sun embedded in the sky

Together weave a quilt for you, apparel for your soul.

May the tiredness of the noon grant you peace and sleep

And may the lazy breeze thereafter give you solitude

May the quiet midday rest enthuse your zestful mind

And may it scent your sweat of work with tranquil rectitude.

May the azure morning sky grant you delectation

And may it fill your work and dreams with jolts of energy.

May your joie de vivre be nurtured by the morning sun

And may your life and hopes remain in perfect synergy.
