Meeting For DessertA Poem by Abdul AzizWith an empty glass and spotless dishes, In a room with scent of unfulfilled wishes, Memories of empty thoughts reside Among the vacant chairs' mild skirmishes.
Where once this room was filled with laughter, Smiles would fill the air thereafter, Now the song of silence lives In the debris of daily disasters.
We're lost in islands of grim isolation, Now under the shade of new expectations; When once we used to laugh with our hearts, Now we droop with our minds' calculations.
But time can heal as well as hurt, As memories sadden, but pain avert; We've had our course in life together, Perhaps we'll meet again for dessert. © 2010 Abdul AzizAuthor's Note
