Will you forgive me?

Will you forgive me?

A Poem by Abdul Aziz
"

This is more spoken word than poem.

"

How can one apologize to a perfect person after hurting her?

To her who is one of the most wonderful and yet intriguing persons he has ever met?

By telling her how much she means to this bumbling idiot?

Or by revealing to her how much she has helped him unknowingly?

Or maybe telling the person how beautiful she is, in both looks and soul?

Should he tell her about how she gave him confidence?

Or about how her trust helped him break the self imposed shackles of his mind?

Or maybe by telling her, in all honesty, that having sent her a message

Is among the best things he has ever done?

Will roses do? A few flowers?

Chocolate, maybe?

Or maybe all of this?

But somehow, I know all of this will not work.

For he has been a let down.

He can only hope she forgives him.

All I can do is implore and beseech.

People come and people go

Like faces sketched in paper dreams.

But you're a dream that will never fade,

For I've painted you on the walls of my heart.

Please forgive me.

You're forgiven ;D
Haha, I'm just kidding. I do hope whoever you wrote this for DID forgive you, I agree with Snapdragon. How could anyone not forgive you after pouring your heart out like this?
Weirdly enough, I like the term "bumbling idiot". It's as if the speaker is wishing to humble himself in order to truly try to express the perfection in the person he's apologizing to. It's sweet, in a sad way.
I loved "self imposed shackles of his mind" though. It's quite the description, there's a definite feeling of liberation and strength, this must be one wonderful lady! :P
I'm fairly sure though, that if you even just uttered your non-italicized line to this person, that they would instantly bombard you with love. The words seem so delicate, so raw. I love your description of memory (for lack of a better term). I also enjoyed how you went from simply sketching a face, to painting the one of the person you're addressing. As if you couldn't help but take it one step more, just for them.
It's lovely. I hope all went well!

How could she stay mad after such a heartfelt apology? I think forgiveness is the most wonderful gift a person can give or receive. This is a lovely poem. You've done excellent work on it.

Very well said. I don't know if I've ever come accross a perfect person, but the fact is that she's perfect in your eyes. How can anyone say sorry after hurting the one they love? Poetry is always a good start :) Well done!

I like it, it's the kind of runt I'll want to be subjected to. There's an essence of hope and tragedy alike. I was a little 'bored' with the adjectives, but then I realized they do leave an impression on the poem. Another great write from you Double A ;)

Forgiveness is a powerful thing, and it's not something you see given or sought much anymore. People just trample each other. Maybe the fact that you desire it and her as well can make it all possible. This hits the heart.

Mark Twain: "Forgiveness is the fragrance the violet sheds on the heel that has crushed it."
