Persist

Persist

A Poem by Abdul Aziz

We kill our souls and sell ourselves
Even 'neath the tolling bells.
We think the crowd is always right
And never heed what wisdom tells.

We wander blind and deaf and dumb,
Not knowing death will surely come.
Nor pause to think and are hoodwinked
By guiles of power and we succumb.

Oft doing good is always hard,
But easy does not come reward.
Persist among the thoughtless crowd;
And be aware, and be on guard.

Rhyming hexameters...I'm envious! I can never keep form for very long without going off on tangent, that's why I'm so impressed you've managed to stay true to form and tell me a story! Really blown away!

Rhyming is not only reactivated byt rhythm as well...

Its power is in how well it rolls.

This makes me think that problems happen to people and they don't know it's happening to them. And your trying so hard to tell them that they should know what they are going through expressing out in a poem probably felt better fro you to stay calm about the situation. Don't I would have done the same thing
