Jasmine in Summer

Jasmine in Summer

A Poem by Abdul Aziz

In my dreams I'm falling endlessly
While the carousel spins on and on;
I'm seeing her where I've seen her before
But she moves on and smiles endlessly.

In my dreams she walks endlessly,
And fades off like an apparition,
Vanishing into the darkness of day,
While her scent of jasmine lingers on endlessly.

In my dreams I'm crying endlessly,
While I die a little every day;
She smiles on and disappears;
I'm left clutching at my tears endlessly.

A beautiful description of a snowflake - a carousel! loved the image it created on my mind. a first snow that does not get forgotten, pure and inviting. endlessly pristine. Well done :)

beautiful poetry....our dreams evoke so many pictures, our words bring them to life on paper.....I love the repetition of "endlessly".....she is just like our dreams....like our words.....endless.....:)

This is such a beautiful piece, it sounds so graceful yet bittersweet. I really enjoyed reading this.

Great Job

if only the speaker could wake up and she would stop so he could catch her.

i was taken by the last line and the idea of "clutching at my tears endlessly"---

nice concept to use to end a very sad poem.
