Railway Station Blues

Railway Station Blues

A Poem by Abdul Aziz

I'm swimming in a sea of people
And I am alone, lonely;
The music plays on tirelessly
But I can't seem to hear it.

In the rush of boarding,
In the squalor of crowds
I am alone, and all I can think of
Is the splendour of your smile.

The first jerks of motion -
I am moving, endlessly,
Driven by thoughts of you.

The lights have dimmed,
Lightning has slept,
The rain drizzles on
And you are not here.

Beautifully penned. Concise and nicely flowing.

This is reality: to be in a sea of people and forced to move with the tide and yet, the soul cries in melancholy for the one to complete you and bring you home.

Where you found this idea? New idea, but nicely penned.
