You, my Poem

You, my Poem

A Poem by Abdul Aziz

You, my Poem

As the songbird takes flight

But leaves behind his song,

The poet may pass

But his poem carries on.

You are the song, you are the word,

You are the poem and the rhyme,

And lest we're overheard

By the crawling of Time,

Let me trace you with light

And suffuse you with my breath;

Let time do what it may,

Let me kiss you till death.

I really loved the way you were able to end the poem so delicately. This was an amazing, mesmerizing read. Not only are its words, beautiful, its meaning is as well. Spectacularly penned!

It was my pleasure.
love the last stanza...and this whole idea...a significant other as our muse...her flight is our flight of words...

nicely penned, the images are breathtaking.
