A Smile That Spanned The Breadth Of Time

A Smile That Spanned The Breadth Of Time

A Poem by Abdul Aziz

Your hazel eyes blazed the sun,
As you bowed your head to read my words
About your twinkling eyes.

And you devoured my fear, little by little
With a smile that spanned the breadth of time
That crept slowly on your lips.

It hung there, suspended from your lips,
Like a beacon illuminating the soul,
Radiant and happy.

And as time stopped around you
And my eyes blurred everything but your smile,
It stayed there for an ephemeral eternity.

My pen began to find its words again,
After the revelations of your eyes.
But fell mute once more, stricken by a smile
That belongs to a flower in paradise.

Perhaps a little too much romanticism? Anyways, the exaggerations were great, only too bright for the view. Of course, since I read your other poem, I can permit this one. :P

You go, man. You go.

Keep writing.
