The Demon's Song

The Demon's Song

A Poem by Abby L.

One day I decided to skip class

and take a walk along a pass

To escape the villain mass

One day I decided to skip class

I saw a sight I never see

the big bad bully out for tea

Now I know I should flee

I saw a sight I never see

He was singing songs of pain and sorrow

apparently I never got the memo

These songs you’d only sing to your pillow

He was singing songs of pain and sorrow

I wept from the songs he sang

Feeling my heart go out with a pang

He wretched the last note out as it rang

I wept from the songs he sang

Concealing my presence worked very well

He never realized the hate that had fell

But I will never forget that old demon’s hell

While he sang in the courtyard the heart he would swell

Forever I know he will dwell

In my mind, but my mouth will never tell
