The girl from the river

Her blonde hair straight and long

Her dress trails in the water

Her voice like a song

The girl from the river

Dressed in blue

From the unknown

Where mercy is due

The girl from the river

Has a story to tell 

Her life is a movie

Which none should dwell

The girl from the river

Her soul is kind

It reflects her beauty

Which is sublime

And if one comes across the girl in blue

Why, he should stop and stare

At her strength and courage

For this girl from the river is unnoticed

After all she is covered in spots and warts

Her beauty hidden by an ugly past

Be on the look out for the girl from the river

Seldom one comes along

If you find her do not let her be alone
