Infatuation

Infatuation

A Poem by Abby Gill

Infatuation

I can't help my infatuation

With this man

My family has told me

Over and over again

That it is not right

But when I look

Into his deep brown eyes

All the things they say

Don't matter anymore

When I am with him

I feel as though

All things in life are possible

And nothing can go wrong

When I am with him

I feel as though

Him and I

Are the only ones around

When I am in his arms

I can feel the passion

He has in his heart for me

When I kiss him

I can feel his burning desire

Burning right through my soul

That is why

I can't help

My infatuation

I loved how this was composed. You got right to the heart of infatuation without any embellishment and I think the poem is all the more personal and relatable because of that. Nice job!!

"I can feel his burning desire
Burning right through my soul"

I like that. You used burning twice, and I picked up on the fact that it must be of some importance. Very nice work!
