Galactic

Galactic

A Poem by Brad Bramble

Galactic,

A shadow above us.

The blaze of a single splinter

Of frozen starlight.

But it’s more than meets the eye.

A billion ions.

We spark wildly,

Never quite together.

But it’s more than meets the eye.

Satellites in orbit,

Revolving around one idea.

One thought.

But it’s more than meets the eye.

We tiny sparks,

All make our own march,

To the firmament.

A climb through hope,

through despair.

But a quantum of us knows,

It’s more than meets the eye.

That shadow links us,

we share in one dream.

One thought.

One goal.

We pass each other over,

in our grandest race,

hardly ever exchanging a look.

But we all know,

There are others out there.

Just like each and every one of you.

When we fall off our orbit,

Someone always reaches out.

We won’t let another star die.

Because we are

Galactic.
