Fate Sucks Pt. 2

I woke at 5:15 am

to a startling sunrise

where

the clouds were lined

with streaks of rose

and the earth blushed

so proudly.

I watched it grow

until it exhumed the entire sky

and then,

right before my eyes,

I watched it fade away.

The pink embers burning white once more.

I was sad to watch it go,

but I knew,

someday,

the sunrise would glow again,

magnificently brighter

than it did this morning.
