Blue

Blue

A Poem by Abba
"

A first attempt at a repeating-line quatrain with some breaking of the rules at the end.

"

The sky was midnight cold when I

gasped out of my navy blue sleep

ran out across the nighttime grass

the path I know so well to you

surrounded by robin’s egg homes.

The sky was midnight cold when I

came crashing down outside your home

saw the lights flashing red and white.

The crowd gathered outside watched as I

screamed out at endless indigo;

the sky was midnight blue when I

refused to believe my dewy eyes,

stumbled forward through your door, teal

in the mixture of night and lights

your room was dark indigo and

the sky was midnight cold when I

found you and darling, you were blue

you were so blue

I wish I could have comforted you.

Author's Note

Abba
Please tear it apart, I think it can be much better. I'm not sure about how all of the shades of blue fit.
