Wings Of Despair

Wings Of Despair

A Poem by A.r. Bazian

Wings Of Despair

come
take me away
oh what end
what destiny that stares
with eyes blazing with hate
i'd lose my self for you
to hold you carelessly
endlessly within my soul
and close my weary eyes

come
and we shall fly
upon the wings of despair
too far away
we'll rise
with the new day
and we shall fly

what soul burns
of eagerness and lust
thoughts of a wanderer
lie under this dust
and ashes
of broken souls
and the ruins of an alter
that sheds with darkness

oh wings of destiny
carry me within thy soul
unbreak this bliss
before nightfall
before the widow cries
and all the walls shall
take away the sadness
before death reigns with gal

oh distant fate
close... yet not short enough
mark this date
walk away this day
for what destiny is to fly away
give me a reason to die for
or a reason to stay!

The search for your purpose is a saddening trail. Wanting to feel alive, but having a hard time finding a way to, can rip a soul to pieces. Waiting for destiny to show you the way to your perfect life takes far too long and most of us are lost before the first signs are seen. Life seems doomed if you are unfortunate enough to be lost in the vast expanse of possiblie lives and paths. This poem refelts and shows this hopelessness very well. The words have a wonder flow and I like it very much.

our souls pass in the night
with the feelings
that we will pass no more

sense that we will never
see again after this pass
it shall be our fate

as Columbus brushed
with ghost ship written in logs
lost many centuries in future

Seems as though you see your destiny as doomed. And I also sense that you welcome this sort of destiny, you are tired! I feel like you accept sadness and will live with that emotion. The world has beaten many of us down, our souls are lost to the corruption. A widow is one who needs support, she is without man to help her as an orphan is without parents. Your symbolization of a widow points me in the direction of you not wanting to hear the widow cry, you want to continue in your sadness. In the closure of the poem, you shift suddenly to giving hope a slight chance. The choice is either to give you a reason to live, or just take you away with death. You are tired of being in the middle. Good write!
