And We Danced And I Cried!

And We Danced And I Cried!

A Poem by A.r. Bazian

And We Danced… And I Cried!

why am i alone?

i can hear my heart beat...

silence all around!

...

i cling on... to misery..

no one asked...

if i want it... if i like it...

pain inside is rising...

for i am a fallen one...

a figure in the darkness...

a memory of the sun!

...

i cling on... to misery...

i turned out the lights...

and wandered the dark!

...

in my sleep...

in my night...

no one can hear me...

no one can save me...

blood dripping... it just wont keep...

i washed away the blood on my hand...

my father's sins...

and poured them into the sea...

turned out the lights...

and let my soul free...

i turned out the lights...

i dreamt of the dawn

and what could be...

from within the darkness...

only my past it comes to me...

from the darkness of my past...

i drain tomorrow...

as death comes by every once in a while...

and sings me to sorrow...

...

And we danced…

My shades and me…

We danced… to misery…

We danced… And I cried!

welcome...

to my theatre of pain...

where only heart beat is heard...

and voices of the pounding rain!

Well, I am so sorry that it took me 11 months to FINALLY get to reading this.
I enjoyed it so very mcuh and I am glad to know that it was my poem that inspired it.
Maybe we can keep in touch about our new writings.
You are a great writer and I am glad that I had the privelage to read this and be the inspiration.
And no, you personally messaging me didn't bother me all those months ago.
I do hope you can forgive my tardiness.
I have been rather busy.
Great works. :D

Bro you never showed me that one before!
Strong words only strengthened by your soul to carry out the job of delivering such words!
I am totally impressed! I always love your work, but this number feels somehow like a song too, so making me only love it more... best part of course is the title, with that you totally stole the light of things!

And by the way!
I think you over made it with your words for me bro,
But hey! Your friend till death and even after... If there is an after you know ;)

All the best, Love and respect
Tamer

Strong imagery - poweful lines - the lost soul feeling of being where it is, though no fault of its own, never having been asked but just being , is truly strong here -

I like
" i cling on... to misery.. no one asked... if i want it... if i like it.. pain inside is rising...
for i am a fallen one... a figure in the darkness... a memory of the sun!"

especially the last two lines here as the direct contrast between what is and the memory of what was.

Possibly a typo on end of fist line in "and we dances "-- did you mean danced there?

The final stanza is perfect - Thank you for sharing this little gem.

Cheers

jen

i really liked this one.
to use something like dancing, a happy experience, and associate it with misery and pain, you've written
quite the poem you've got here.
good job.
