Castles in the Air

Castles in the Air

A Poem by Austin

I could be absolutely nowhere on the map

I could be looking at the stars but it’s only my ceiling

It’s not that I’m lost or that I’m in a shoestring

Nor am I caught up in a life ring, lopped thing

But if only I could wish upon a sun king

To hand me down a giant box spring

So I can shoot up in the infinite sky

Grab hold of one of his angels’ mighty pair of wings

Shoot sky high and take an intricate journey

Through the kingdom of all spiritual things

And I know that it’s only a human thing

To pour out my emotions on this computer thing

I’ll just lay on down and keep pondering what could be

What I want this moment to be

Let all the walls fall down and break apart

And sink to the bottom of the big beautiful blue sea

Forever I will live eternally through my individuality
