Oceans Heart

Oceans Heart

A Poem by Andrea A. Wentz
"

I wrote this about a month ago as well. No idea what inspired it.

"

She finds herself smiling warmly at some sweet romantic bit in a movie

A warming rise in her blood

Realization that she will never find that happiness again

The cold wind creeps in undetected

Flowing quickly to chill the warm heart of these feelings again

A heavy weight pulling the oceans life blood down from heaven

Pulling back down to the heart that which should never have risen

Never dared to hope

Traitorous tears

Never shall you escape again

For when the oceans heart is cold

No vaporous mists will escape

To coalesce to cloudy dreams

And poison tears left to fall

Once more

A heavy heart can be an almost impossible thing to carry around . But can produce such beautiful poetry as you have done here. Writting away the pains can be the best medicine . This poem is oozing with sorrow that will one day give way to new love. We will watch and wait for all the seasons of your heart to come. A pleasure to read and review.

Very nicely written and expressed.
My only criticism would be the use of 'bit' in the first line. I immediately thought 'scene in a movie' would work better and also fit the alliteration you have going there.
Regardless, I found this piece a pleasure to read.
Very nice!

Yes, I think that most people could identify with this and empathise. It does feel as if the heavens are caving in on you and you are drowning in an ocean of confusion.
Well placed prose with no obvious grammar errors and a very strong message.
Cheers;-)

This is very descriptive of the human heart, feeling like it will never have love again and being upset that they let the tears fall over the thought of no love. But, my motto is, "Never say never", When you least expect love, it finds you. Barbara

Well that's a bummer. I have been to that dark place where no hope can be seen, but I weathered the darkness, and I think most folks can. Storms pass, so just hang on and survive until the sun returns.

Like a fountain left on in the cold of winter, the water freezes hard. Come spring, the water melts, dripping back to earth, the fountain forever broken, never to spray again.
I liked the imagery in this piece. The life blood from the heavens felt heavy as i read this. A wonderful set of words to convey a concept of weight.

The cold wind of memories gone creeps in to take away the heat of the hearts warmth. I found this over all to be well put together and rich in image and emotion.

Wonderful Poem!
