Absence

Absence

A Poem by Andrea A. Wentz
"

A poem I wrote a month ago. Inspired by a convo with a good friend about his ex.

"

To have you near

To hold your hand

So close

Yet too far to touch

To miss your kiss

Your gentle arms

The smell of your hair

The taste of your skin

Lost but never forgotten

Always absent

Forever desired

But here I will remain

In my own personal hell

A hell that exists

In the absence of you

Beautiful.

How funny when we feel like we are living "In my own personal hell," all for a love that's gone. And its a feeling we can't shake off, we get "Lost but never forgotten" with their words, their touch. But eventually we begin to slowly climb out of that hell. And that love becomes but a distant memory.
