Hope Thins

Hope Thins

A Poem by Andrea A. Wentz
"

A poem about something I was dealing with. It is now reposted because it was lost in the WC crash.

You will never see a tear fall

As I wait to hear if you will return

You will never see the sadness in my eyes

As I listen to you procrastinate

You will never hear the doubts

That you will ever return

You will never see the confusion

As I wonder why

You may feel I don’t care that much

Because I let you go

But they say if you love someone

You have to let them go

Is it love?

Love as a friend for sure

I only know

I had to let you go

I knew that day

You may never return

But to stay here

Your heart would be torn

So back you went

And call you did

Halfway there

Wanting to come back

But I urged you on

Was that a mistake?

For the next stop was closed

Though you desired it strongly

You could not return

On you went

Back to her

You didn’t wish to be there

Though you stay

And so I wait

Hoping you return

But that thread of hope

Gets thinner

With each passing day

I miss you

But you will never know

Just how much

This poem is an artful description of your own strength.... raw, real and completely honest. It screams dignity, and of real love, real love enough to say goodbye.

It is a true credit your nature, for your soul is shown crystal clear and it is beautiful.

DIfficult words but you've written them in a matter-of-fact, truthful way. Great write.

A self inflicted angst spurred on by an external source. What could be more poetic than that? So sad. Beautifully written.

"You may feel I don't care that much
Because I let you go
But they say if you love someone
You have to let them go
Is it love?"

I got that argument once as well. I don't even think that is true. I think that you can love somebody and not let them go. On the other hand, I firmly believe that you can love somebody AND let them go. Good point, however!

"And call you did
Halfway there
Wanting to come back
But I urged you on
Was that a mistake?"

Good question! Perhaps!

"And so I wait
Hoping you return
But that thread of hope
Gets thinner
With each passing day
I miss you
But you will never know
Just how much"

Wonderful ending(?). Was that the ending, or is that just a break in the action? How many breakups was that? It was probably just one, but that is usually enough to get it done. :)

Wonderful write!
