A warning unheeded...A Poem by Andrea A. WentzA poem about the realization that your gut hunch that you were being used should have been listened to the first time.12/26/07 As I gaze outside Memories of you come to mind Our love of the twinkling lights above bringing forth these thoughts...
As I look up to the first star I see I chance a hope, a wish For you to return Knowing full well it’s hopeless
The moons’ light sparkling among the snow drifts Shadows of a tree Branches swinging crazily in the wind Mirror well the chaos of my heart
A deep loss, but one guarded Hidden from prying eyes, even yours No one can mock me, for no one knows Not even myself
Pain and confusion bubble time and again But distraction saves this pathetic love stuck wench A memory, long ago etched to never go back A warning unheeded, is a wound revived © 2008 Andrea A. WentzReviews
