The StormA Poem by Andrea A. WentzA poem I wrote in 8th grade.Clouds roll in changing the color of the sky From a hazy blue To a dark, pasty glue
Then it begins Lightning, thunder Looking for something to plunder
Like a hot knife through butter Lightning cuts through the sky I fear I might cry
As thunder rolls And shakes our house It makes me feel like a tiny mouse
Flash, boom, bang Will it ever end? I can't watch as the trees bend
The lightning flashes The thunder booms And waves crash against the dunes
The wind howls The rain pours down Trying to flood the town
The rain is becoming lighter now And the thunder is not as loud What happened to that big cloud?
I can see the stars They are showing very bright Against the dark, black night
The storm has gone away to the south Now I can go to sleep and pile my blankets on top of me And write in my diary if I could only find the key © 2008 Andrea A. WentzReviews
