![]() The Little Things...A Poem by Andrea A. Wentz![]() My first frustrated poem.![]() Other than that, yeah I prefer to notice the little things, especially in relationships. If you keep waiting around for big things like flowers and trips to fancy restaurants, expensive vacations, etc then you're basing the love in your relationship on how much money you have and that's not what love is about. Not at all. It's the little things that people do that show how they care or dont care. The big things are just flashy displays, but anyone can just come along and buy you flowers, haha well if you're a girl :p, but not just anyone could want to help you with the dirty dishes just because they wanna be near you, or watch you work on some creative endeavour just to know your process and be interested enough in how you think. You know? haha I dont know if I'm making sense, but that's just how I feel. :)
You say you’ll buy me flowers, You say you’ll buy me rings, You say you’ll buy me the stars, And all sorts of fancy things.
You say you’ll take me shopping, You’ll take me to meet your mother, You say you’ll take me to Tahiti, And here I’m thinking why bother?
Do you think I’m shallow? Do you think I’m blind? Get along now, I’m leaving you behind!
If you try to stop me You’ll go kerspalt, For I know what love is And it’s none of that!
Anyone can do what you offer, But does that make their love true? Adios now, I have more Important things to pursue.
Love is not how much you buy, how much you spend, nor how much you lie.
Love is being there When no one else is, When you don’t want to be, And when washing the dishes.
There is no price on love, For it is priceless. If you don’t get that, Then boy are you in crisis.
I care not for these flashy displays, They last only as long as the money does. I care if you heed the little things, For that is what a woman loves. © 2008 Andrea A. WentzReviews
