Try Once MoreA Poem by Andrea A. WentzA poem about love lost, the confusion that comes with it, and the hope of a new dawn and a new beginning. What is love?
Is it a feeling Or a sickness That leaves you reeling?
Can it be lost, Or does it endure Through tests and trials To far in the future?
Does it "hope all things" As some have said Or does it leave you On the side of the road, dead?
Is it quick to flame Then leave you lost, Lying awake at night Thinking of the cost?
No, love is not that. No flame easy to extinguish That when gone leaves You writhing in anguish.
Love is calm for When it is gone, You will let them go And look to the next dawn.
A new day will come, A new rain will fall, A new man will arrive, And you will heed his call.
Though the pain is great Time will ease it. Though it may not seem so, Your life is not forfeit.
"There will never be Another like him." You are right, the next Will not leave you on a whim.
The man you loved Can not be replaced, But you will see The time was not a waste.
Embrace the lesson learned And look to the new dawn For you will become As a newborn fawn.
Peaceful and kind Which all will adore. Full of zest and courage, Unafraid to try once more. © 2008 Andrea A. WentzReviews
