so I became a teacher....

so I became a teacher....

A Chapter by Ashish Pillai

It is exciting to be a teacher! Those who are teacher would agree with me. To those who are thinking how could it be? The teachers are boring... who don’t  even have wits to enjoy a jest.... who are ill tempered .... who are freaks who get to know all what is happening all around in the class :P who usually dresses like geeks... wear spectacles..... and very obvious who have the ability to incessantly go on with sermons on good conduct and discipline etc. Let me tell you being teacher are such roller coaster ride. When was I a kids what we learnt from our parents was that teacher is the potter who moulds our career. And there were rules we followed saying good morning every time we saw the teacher, standing up when they came into the classroom, carrying their books, attendance registers, when they are angry not even looking their eyes... yes, yes they enjoyed the position of God in our life. The time has changed, now days are challenging and have grown ridiculous.  I loved to be a teacher or maybe I was a born to be a teacher. I had seen my teachers they were what I wanted to become by giving them values for life, telling them what is good and bad, how to go ahead beating competition.  I am writing this book to share my experience when finally I got to be one teacher. I had joined this school near my place in the year 2013 around a year after I left my job from a top MNC in Delhi. Yeah I do miss my previous company for the love and support they gave me. It was a hard decision to leave them but had to take it. I made my year fruitful by getting into Psychology majors from my previous college under my favourite teachers.

I had interviewed for the post of teacher around in the month of February in 2013.it was quite an interesting one though. The panel consisted of around five people. The questions were like why I opted to come to be a teacher. I still remember my answer I had said that I idolized my teachers and wanted to frame young minds just like they done for me and add value to their life. I was asked why I wanted to teach English instead of Dance for which I was known in town and I had answered Dance is and will always remain my passion but I want to contribute to the society in a new way thus started my journey at the school.
