[by my dirty body I hadn't noticed]

[by my dirty body I hadn't noticed]

A Poem by Aaron Eliad

by my dirty body I hadn't noticed
sheets being clean and pitched in stamps.

The blast that's traffic light
gives me hope and something much smaller
like a toaster or self-lighting scarecrow.

Mirror rapping bass mind
like explosive bat rabbit ears in elevator
headlights rapping rebublic.

Answer quickly and I'll submit the change
to our changing bodies.

Small pigs are giving peace to land
of ears and empathy of animals
if animals even live there;
I don't know if they'll lay awake like we do,
but some of us do it all the time
perusing lights in subterfuge soup
with regular drinks and regular toast
where they don't serve it,
we'll have to make our own.

Lights on the bridge watch me walk
while they're addicted to urinating,
pollution is beautiful,
pollution is kind to us
for not making clever replacements.

Wow, I was hoping to offer some comment on the style or the flow of this, but I just simply love it.
