F*ck It, Nobody Reads My Work

F*ck It, Nobody Reads My Work

A Poem by Angela Abate

"Not all movement is progress"
Not all completion is success
I would know,
worthless
When everything you do just sends you in circles
You stare blankly as no doors open
no doors close...
You carry on as if opportunities actually await
hate
hate
hate the things you do
these opportunities...
they aren't for you
But you keep going
because that's just how the world works
am I right?
Death
Suicide
No, fight.
But serenity...
Am I wrong?
To want something so badly
While I complete
complete
complete these meaningless tasks
I beg,
"If there is a God, he will take me."
I'm tired of these circles
these doors
these thoughts
these meaningless test scores
"Not all movement is progress"
I would know,
I'm worthless.

I think you conveyed how you feel pretty well in this poem. You captured the lack of motivation and the frustration we all feel when times are hard. I like what you did :)

How are things now?

You said it. I feel this way a lot. Things can sometimes look pointless. But... We write because it's what we do. Thanks for sharing.
