This reminds me of all the times I so clearly remember something happening one way and then find out that it was completely different or I have one very important detail wrong. Our minds are scary detailed but they're not always as accurate as we might hope.

They used to say that, "the camera never lies"; long before today's mind blowing technology and AI. It's the passage of time, which often distorts the accuracy of human perception. That's a key reason, why police are usually so keen to quickly interview witnesses; whilst their memories remain fresh.

As with many poetic writings, this deals with an aspect of perception. And, this is simple but effective; and it makes a valid point.

Even people with so called "photographic memories", will interpret their memories in different ways; so no method of recall is flawless. Or, possible to bring a guaranteed outcome; particularly when human memories fade over time.
